Works well Apr 14, 2010 Picked up the Kayak at a trucking company in New Jersey and drove it out to the Hamptons in a major storm wil high winds.

Use it for kayak. Use the malone loader to load the kayak first. Must read both reviews if you are buying the same combination Oct 28, 2009 Works great. I usually put it directly on the roof top without using the metal rails. However it presses the roof down if you tighten it too much. However my kayak is light and the SUV roof seems to be strong enough. You could install it on the metal rail using the grove but I did not try it since the shape of the grove looked different from my SUV rail.
